Ghost Recon Wildlands' Ghost War PVP mode will get its third major free update on January 25, which will add a new PVP mode called Extraction and two exclusive maps. Arriving simultaneously on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, the update – dubbed Extended Ops – also comes with new gear for Ghost War and the base game (including special Rainbow Six Siege-inspired Icon Costumes).
Extraction tasks one team with defending two high-value targets (HVTs), while the other team works to find and escort one of the HVTs to an evac point. The HVTs have to stay alive for the match to be won, pushing both teams to be more cautious and strategic as they master Extraction's two new maps, Institute and Garage, which will be available in Quickplay and Ranked.
Additionally, Extended Ops comes with a host of additions and improvements, adding Fallen Ghosts weapons to the main game (for those who've installed the DLC), as well as a colorblind mode and a compass to the Ghost War HUD for callouts or navigation. Additionally, Ghost War's classes, maps, and Ranked Mode are all getting balance updates, and that's just the start of what's included in Extended Ops; for a full rundown of the changes and tweaks coming January 25, check out the official site.
