Land of Lions, the latest DLC for Anno 1800, is available today as part of Season Pass 2 and is the largest content release for the game since its original launch. Making up the bulk of that content is a new region called Enbesa – a new area inspired by Eastern Africa complete with arid weather conditions. To prosper in Enbesa, you’ll need to adapt your strategy and utilize new features, like irrigation systems and a new Research Center that can be used to create new technologies. There are also two new citizen tiers in Enbesa, one new citizen tier in the Old World, new production chains (including hibiscus tea and telephones), 90 new buildings, three quest islands, 134 new items, and more.
Land of Lions also includes new story content based around Ketema, the Emperor of Enbesa, who tasks you with building the capital and fending off foreign influence. Additionally, players can now enjoy Game Update 9 for free, which introduces a number of quality-of-life improvements requested by the Anno community, such as selecting destinations for harbor ships traveling between sessions and improved trade route menus.
