Rainbow Six Siege Operators are getting gussied up for a limited-time event, but this ain’t no two-bit dime-store breach-and-grab job. This is The Grand Larceny, and dress code for the occasion is inspired by dapper gangsters of the 1920s. In addition to scoring new threads for 10 not-so-law-abiding Operators, Rainbow Six Siege players have the chance to play a free new mode called The Stolen Goods, in which shotguns are the primary weapon of choice and cash-stuffed safes are the target. The Grand Larceny starts today and runs through May 19, so get off your keister and suit up.
The Stolen Goods plays out on a modified version of the old Hereford Base map, with new furnishings that reflect the criminal activity that’s afoot, and one big engineering change: many of the breakable floors no longer have metal beams reinforcing them. With every Operator packing a shotgun as their primary weapon, you and your allies will be able to blow open big holes in floors to get the drop on your enemies and take creative destruction to a whole new level.
The Attackers will be trying to secure safes around the map, while the Defenders make plans to protect their stash. You’ll need to move quickly, however; there is no Prep Phase and no Attacker drones. Coordinated teamplay, always a must in Siege, becomes even more paramount, as intel is harder to come by and the enemies’ shotguns could be around every corner.
While almost every Operator will be playable in The Stolen Goods game mode, only 10 have received custom-tailored duds. Attackers Amaru, Fuze, Gridlock, Hibana, and Maverick are looking sharp, as are Defenders Echo, Maestro, Kaid, Wamai, and Warden. Their spiffy outfits are equipped automatically when you play The Stolen Goods, and they’re also lootable for general use through Grand Larceny packs.
You can earn packs by completing special Event Challenges or by purchasing them with Renown or R6 Credits. With 31 items in all, ranging from Hibana’s rakish asymmetrical chapeau to Wamai’s tactical pinstripe pants, The Grand Larceny’s headgear, uniforms, and weapon skins will have you outclassing your opponents in no time.
You’ll also be able to acquire the Roaring Riches bundles during the event, which includes the Deco Artistry signature weapon skin and the Crafted Six charm. But come May 19, The Grand Larceny’s stint will come to an end, taking the limited-time mode and cosmetic items with it. Play it today and take your shot at the big time.
