Trapper. Guerrilla. Stalker. These new classes are coming to Ghost Recon Wildlands' Ghost War PvP mode on March 14 in a free update dubbed New Assignment. This is the fourth major free update for the PvP mode, and it also includes new maps for Extraction mode, a new map-voting tool, and other gameplay updates. New Assignment will launch simultaneously on Xbox One and PS4 with a PC release arriving later; read on for more details on the classes and maps.
True to its name, the Trapper class brings gas traps into battle which can be remotely placed. Once an enemy triggers a trap, they will take damage and be temporarily stunned. Furthermore, downed enemies are automatically marked by the Trapper, who can then use their sniper rifle to deny any revive attempts.
Next up is the Guerrilla, who packs an SMG for closer-quarters engagements and has a drone that can shoot smoke bombs. These projectiles can be launched strategically to hide ally movements and protect them from being marked. The smoke will also unmark any allies who were previously marked. And if you drop a smoke bomb on the enemy team, closing distance to put the Guerrilla's SMG to work should be much easier.
Finally, the Stalker is a long-range specialist with a sniper rifle that can't be heard by far-off enemies. Enemies marked by the Stalker won't know they are marked, and enemies that get close to the Stalker might meet a grisly end at the barrel of their secondary shotgun.
These three classes will be available immediately for Season Pass and Ghost War pass owners, and they'll have seven days of exclusive access. After that, players will be able to unlock these classes with Prestige credits that they earn in-game or purchase in the store. There are also two new maps coming to Extraction mode – Refinery and Cliffside – as well as a new map voting tool. Before every Quickplay and Ranked PvP match, players will be able to cast their vote for one of three options, each comprising a different map and mode.
Though these classes are the last ones included in the Season Pass and Ghost War Pass, there are more updates on the way that will continue to expand the PvP possibilities.
