The best part of making games is seeing how people play them once
they're released. With Rocksmith 2014, we've seen lots of people
learn to play guitar like they always dreamed they would, and
that's honestly thrilling for the development team. But no
Rocksmith player has impressed us more than Audrey Shida.
Audrey - currently 11
years old - lives in rural Japan with her younger sister Kate. She
started playing the original Rocksmith and never stopped; she's
entirely self-taught through the game. She's Audrey123talks on
YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook, and her videos have landed her chat show
appearances and in her homeland, not to mention
for her birthday. And if
you've never seen her play Rocksmith... well, here's what she can
do: So when we heard
that Audrey would be visiting San Francisco with her family this
summer, we asked if she'd be willing to play with the Rocksmith dev
team on a special livestream - and she agreed! That stream will
take place Tuesday August 4, at 3pm PT/6pm ET/10pm GMT at the
dedicated Rocksmith Twitch channel, http://twitch.tv/rocksmithgame. Audrey will be playing
some of her favorite songs with the Rocksmith 2014 notetrackers.
Better still, we're also giving away some special prizes for the
occasion: • Steam DLC codes for Audrey's favorite songs -
watch her play it live, then see how you do! • A special Ernie Ball prize
pack - keeping these contents a secret but it's not the stuff we
usually give away! • An Orange OPC complete with Steam codes for Rocksmith
& Rocksmith 2014 (and a generous helping of DLC too). If you're
not familiar with the OPC, it's both a small-form-factor PC and a
fully fledged Orange guitar amplifier in one unit - really, the
ultimate machine for Rocksmith players! All those prizes
will be awarded live on the show. You must be present to enter and
you must be following our Twitch channel to win. We are thrilled that
Audrey and Kate are coming to see us in San Francisco and we can't
wait to meet them in person. Join us if you
can! For more on Rocksmith 2014, check out these
