Assassin's Creed fans will want to pay special attention to New York Comic Con this week, as Ubisoft is rolling into the show with a veritable storm of Assassin's Creed merchandise and events. Toys, statues, books, convention exclusives and more will make their debut from October 8 through October 11 – and if you're an Assassin's Creed cosplayer, you'll have a chance to grab some special bonuses. Here's what to expect:
• On October 8 at 1:45 p.m., Ubisoft and Titan Comics will host a panel on a new Assassin's Creed comic series, complete with new Assassins and historical settings, in room 1A24. Panelists include Assassin's Creed brand content director Aymar Azaizia, chief writer Richard Farrese, artist Dennis Calero, and writers Anthony Del Col and Conor McCreery.
A signing session will follow at 3 p.m. at the Titan Comics booth (#2142). Attendees at the show will also have a chance to get the first issue of the new comic, with an NYCC-exclusive cover by Calero, ahead of its nationwide release on October 14. Also, on October 10, Assassin's Creed cosplayers who visit the Titan Comics booth will be given an exclusive signed art card, while supplies last.
• Penguin Random House (booth #2204), publisher of the upcoming Assassin's Creed Underworld novel by Oliver Bowden, will give away free copies of Bowden's Assassin's Creed Renaissance and Assassin's Creed Unity novels – again, while supplies last.
• Fans will have an early chance to purchase Assassin's Creed: The Complete Visual History from Insight Editions (booth #1765) at a discounted price. The new book, which will hit retail on October 13, offers a visual exploration of the entire Assassin's Creed franchise, including games, spin-offs, comics and collectibles.
Four copies of the book signed by a number of Assassin's Creed artists will be given away exclusively at NYCC, in daily drawings at the Insight booth. Additionally, the first 10 fans to buy a copy of the book will also receive a print of the cover art, signed by artist Jeff Simpson – and the first 10 Assassin's Creed cosplayers to stop by the Insight booth at 12:15 p.m. on October 10 will be given an Assassin's Creed journal.
• McFarlane Toys (booth #1526) will feature the new series of Assassin's Creed action figures, including Assassin's Creed Rogue's Shay Cormac and Assassin's Creed Syndicate's Jacob Frye. At 2:30 p.m. on October 10, the first 15 Assassin's Creed cosplayers to stop by the McFarlane booth will get a figure designed and signed by Todd McFarlane himself.
• TriForce (booth #636) will unveil its Assassin's Creed Syndicate – Jacob Frye Premier Scale Statue, a 10-pound grayscale polystone statue that stands 14 inches tall. Fans at NYCC can pre-order one of the 500 statues at a 15% convention discount.
Assassin's Creed Syndicate will launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 23, and on PC November 19. To pre-order, visit assassinscreed.com.
