Darkness has fallen over Truth or Consequences, New Mexico in the new Eclipse Crisis Event happening now through September 1 in Rainbow Six Extraction. Eclipse introduces a new Archaean threat that requires stealth tactics to take down, but if you manage to do so efficiently (plus accomplish the other new objectives in each incursion), you'll be on your way to unlocking new cosmetic gear and a new REACT tech item called the Aura Grenade, which attracts Archaeans to it before detonating. Plus, a new Operator named Echo has joined the squad with his enemy-distracting (and eventually, enemy-obliterating) Yokai drone. See him in action and check out the new event in our video breakdown.
When you dive into an Eclipse incursion, your primary objective will be to hunt down the Elusive Neoplasm, an Archaean that stays rooted in place unless it detects danger (i.e. you). Once you've found it, approach steathily and hit it with a takedown; however, if you get caught moving in its detection pulse or alert enemies nearby, the Neoplasm will escape to the next subzone. You need to hit it with three takedowns to kill it; ideally that's one per subzone, but if it flees, you'll have to make up those missed takedowns in the final subzone. And don't take too much time! You'll also need to restore generator power in the first two subzones, which means contending with hordes of angry Archaeans.
Rainbow Six Extraction is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PC, Stadia, and Amazon Luna, and is included with a Ubisoft+ or Game Pass subscription. Read about how the team chose Operators from the ranks of Rainbow Six Siege to make up REACT in Rainbow Six Extraction.
