Driver is shifting gears and coming to your screens in the form of a live-action series. The action-adventure driving videogame franchise will be brought to life through a collaboration between Ubisoft and Binge, an upcoming streaming platform showcasing original series and shows created for gaming fans. “Driver” will stream exclusively on Binge.com.
Driver, one of the first open-world driving action games, tells the story of John Tanner, an ex-racecar driver turned undercover agent whose mission is to take down the local crime syndicate. Ubisoft Film & Television’s Jason Altman, Danielle Kreinik, and Genevieve Jones will serve as executive producers for the live-action series, alongside producers Allan Ungar and Vincent Talenti for Binge.
“Our mission at Ubisoft is to bring our games to life in new and exciting ways and create content set in the world, culture, and community of gaming,” said Danielle Kreinik, head of television development, Ubisoft Film & Television. “Working with Binge will allow us to bring a Driver series directly to the audience who is most passionate about seeing this franchise come to life.” “As longtime fans of the franchise, we’re excited to deliver an original, premium, and rich storytelling experience that will take fans and newcomers on a thrilling ride,” said Allan Ungar for Binge.
You can watch “Driver” when it comes to Binge. The free streaming platform launches in 2022 and will be accessible on any Internet-connected device. For more on Ubisoft Film & Television, check out our previous coverage.
