Assassin's Creed is getting its own YA novel series later this year, and a new version of the first book's cover has just been unveiled. Penned by award-winning author Matthew J. Kirby, the first book of Last Descendants revolves around a group of teenagers who use the Animus to relive genetic memories of the 1863 draft riots in New York City, and consequently find themselves caught up in the ancient war between Templars and Assassins.
The series, which will also take readers to the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire and feature a number of prominent historical figures, begins this September with Last Descendants, and a second book will follow in January 2017. To learn more about Last Descendants, visit scholastic.com.
